The Department of Education School Swimming and Water Safety Program is an intensive learn to swim program for students in Years 2-6, which develops water confidence and provides students with basic skills in water safety and survival. The program is conducted over 10 days with 45 minute lessons each day. There will be four sessions each day and students will be allocated a daily session to attend. Students who have not reached a satisfactory standard of water safety and survival skills, and are unable to swim 25m confidently unaided in deep water, are encouraged to participate in the School Swimming and Water Safety Program. Students will be tested on Day 1 of the program and placed into groups by the Swim School teachers. Students will NOT be re-tested or change groups.
