Opportunities and activities
At Mittagong Public School, we offer a variety of co-curricular (extra-curricular) programs and activities.
Getting involved in co-curricular activities supports learning beyond the classroom. They help students build new skills, make friends and explore new interests.

Our co-curricular highlights

Student Representative Council
Students in year 6 have the opportunity to achieve leadership roles on our SRC (Student Representative Council) or as sports house captains. We also have a stage 3 Citizenship Program to foster student leadership skills.

Aboriginal homework centre
Mittagong Public School has proudly partnered with Illawarra Wingecarribee Alliance Aboriginal Corporation (IWAAC) to offer an Aboriginal Homework Centre. This initiative is designed to provide support to First Nations students in their education. The centre aims to offer a culturally supportive and nurturing environment for First Nations students to do their homework, receive academic help, and engage in educational activities

School band
Mittagong Public School has partnered with Bandemonium to give students the opportunity for small group music lessons and to join the school band which is run by Bandemonium.

Lunchtime activity groups
Students across the school are offered several lunchtime activites including, senior and junior choir, dance groups, recorder group, chess club and gardening club.
