Positive Welfare

The Positive Reward System forms a vital part of the Student Welfare Policy under the heading 'Practices to Reinforce Student Achievement and a Good Behaviour'. Its implementation enables students to become responsible, contributing members of our society.

Our school values: Respect, Responsibility and Cooperation underpin all that we do at Mittagong Public School. The values are taught explicitly in classrooms and through the activities and relationships of the school and its community. At Mittagong Public School, our values influence how people communicate, work together and make decisions. They are reflected in policies and procedures of our school.

RESPECT - having regard for yourself and others and accepting the right of others to hold different or opposing views

RESPONSIBILITY - being accountable for your individual and community's actions towards yourself, others and the environment

CO-OPERATION - Working together to achieve common goals, providing support to others and engaging in peaceful resolution of conflict.

Our students receive awards for demonstrating our school values. Merit awards are also issued to students at school assemblies.
