Road Safety

Please show courtesy in the pickup and drop off zone outside the school in Pioneer St. The zone is active from 8am to 9.30am and 2.30pm to 4pm.  After entering the zone, please drive to the end of the zone so other vehicles can follow behind. We are requesting parents allow 2 minutes maximum to pick up or drop off their child. Please do not leave your car to go to the office. Once your child has been dropped off, please do not remain in the zone. Moving your car along and out of the zone allows for a more streamlined and safer pickup and drop off.

If the zone is full when you arrive, we ask that you continue and drive around the block. At all times it is vital to keep the pedestrian crossing clear of vehicles because of visibility issues. Please park parallel to the kerb and don't double park as it is unsafe for children to enter and exit cars on the road.

In the afternoons, the zone is easily accessed after 3:00pm as most traffic has cleared by then. If you can delay pickup until then it will assist in reducing congestion at bell time.

We ask you to follow the Safety Door rule by making sure your child enters and leaves the car via the rear kerb side door.

There are various disabled parking spaces around the school – in Pioneer Street and Albert St. These are clearly signposted.

The school car park is for staff only – there is no pedestrian access. The only exception is for parents with a disability (please arrange with school).

Bus zones are located in Albert Street and Lee Street. These are clearly signposted with times of use. The following link will take you to Berrima buslines website where you can find out information about bus safety, timetables and has a travel planner.

Please use the pedestrian crossing on Pioneer Street when crossing the road with your child. Always hold your child's hand when crossing. It is recommended practice until 8 years of age. Please supervise your child in the roadside environment until they reach 10 years of age. It is also good to practise "Stop, Look, Listen and Think" with your child before crossing the road.
